The first year we were married (a long time ago) my husband bought e a 10 pack of Bic stick pens but since then he’s made up for it with sweet and thoughtful gifts like a trip to see the grandkids

    • Leanne says:

Oh, Donna, he must have been desperate! Are those pens long gone? I love the idea of a trip to see the grand kids. Great to see that you both hung in there! Thanks for commenting! xo, Leanne

  2. Phyllis Lamken says:

favorite: an orange. My mom always put an orange in our stocking. It was great and the smell of oranges remind me of Christmas. I don’t have a least favorite, but I would not want to get a lump of coal.

    • Leanne says:

Phyllis, I think I love oranges especially in winter! The smell and taste is so refreshing! What a lovely memory. Let’s all skip the coal, yes?:) Thanks for commenting! xo, Leanne

  3. amy o'neal says:

hey now adays as I am 38 years old….I would be happy getting socks and underwear lol last year I got 10 in lottery scratch offs. :) but they were all losers

  4. Melinda says:

My favourite chocolates and sweets, I have sweet tooth, but I can resist almost everything when I want to, but chocolates? No way, I’ll eat them right away for sure

    • Leanne says:

Melinda, I like a little chocolate in my stocking too! I usually eat one immediately then hide the rest for later. :D THANKS for commenting! :) xo, Leanne

  5. Jaye Marie Rome says:

    Hi, Leanne,
Like Amy, lottery tix are a must. B&N gift cards are good, too. Hubby gave me a pair of old lady earrings when I was 30. I knew I’d never wear them, so I brought them back and exchanged them for something younger and more stylish. (He didn’t mind.) This year, a plane ticket to anywhere it’s not cold and snowing would be MOST appreciated!

Have a Merry Christmas, my friend! (Oh, and if I win, draw again, please.)

    Hugs,
    Jaye

    • Leanne says:

Jaye, jewelry can be tricky, don’t you think? I’m wishing you a plane ticket to somewhere warm, dahlink! :) You’re such a generous girl! Mwah! xo, Leanne

  6. Beth Foster says:

I love your books. Merry Christmas!

  7. Ellen Thompson says:

I love to get gift cards in my stocking! I don’t think I have ever gotten anything bad in my stocking.

  8. Laura says:

I love gift cards and candy kisses in my stocking. When I was 8 years old, I received a lump of coal in my stocking and nothing else…didn’t like that. Love your books…keep ‘em coming.

    • Leanne says:

Laura! A lump of coal when you were 8? That’s terrible! So wrong! I hope you get gift cards and candy kisses this year!! Thank you for your sweet words on my books! xo, Leanne

  9. Gina Hagedorn says:

When my mom realized that, at twelve years old, I’d fallen in love with Harlequin romance novels (and was always trying to write one of my own), she started a new tradition of leaving a Harlequin novel in my stocking every year. It was the item I looked forward to most of all ~ of course, I loved the lip glosses, Avon, and candy, too…but I treasured every book. Although she’s been gone since 1987, I have carried on the tradition by not only treating myself to a new Harlequin each Christmas (in addition to the many others I buy throughout the year), but I’ve started giving them to my nieces, as well.

Stockings are for goodies so, I really did like everything in it. But if I had to pick the least favorite, it would be probably be an orange. Tasty, but not very exciting. :)

    • Leanne says:

Gina, what a lovely tradition! And I love it that you continue it by gifting yourself AND your nieces! That’s a great story! Thank you for sharing! xo, Leanne

  10. C-Jay M says:

We do St Nick stockings. We, too, would always get an orange in the toe. It was special because we usually didn’t get them during winter. Mom would also make Rice Krispie balls, and there was always chocolate. I don’t remember any really bad presents from family, but once at a gift exchange I got a stained Tupperware container, minus the cover — and it wasn’t even a ‘white elephant’ exchange. I’m afraid of ‘it’s the thought that counts’ meaning behind it ;)

    • Leanne says:

C-Jay, love your stocking memories. It’s also fun to find jewelry in the stocking. :) But your tupperware story! Ack! I’ve received a few gifts that made me shake my head too — but stained tupperware with no lid. Hmmm. Thanks for sharing! :) xo, Leanne

  11. Cindy Hailton says:

The things I like most are giftcards and books. Or little personal gifts. My least favorite is things that are very impersonal or things you know that was picked up at the last minute without thought! I like it when people put thought into buying a gift.

  12. cassie bacon says:

My least favorite was a really ugly wallet and my favorite this year is tickets to see beauty and the beast.

    • Leanne says:

Cassie, you gotta wonder where the really ugly wallet came from. I’m thrilled for you to see Beauty and the Beast!!! WONDERFUL! Enjoy!:) Thank you for commenting! xo, Leanne

  13. Joanna Sims says:

    Hi Leanne,

Congratulations on the new series! My worst favorite was a toothbrush (mom was really reaching that year) and my most favorite are gift cards or anything mini (mini lotions, lip gloss, books).

    Joanna

    • Leanne says:

Joanna, minis! How cool is that! I can see you being delighted with each mini you pull from your stocking! :) My mother always gave us new toothbrushes, and I actually gave battery-operated toothbrushes a few years ago. (That wasn’t the only gift, I promise!) But get this, my daughter said that battery-operated toothbrush is the favorite one she’s ever had!lol Hope you get lots of “minis” this year! Thanks for commenting! xo, Leanne

  14. Linda Henderson says:

Most favorite, some pretty earrings. Least favorite, ear plugs. Don’t ask, I don’t have a clue on that one.

    • Leanne says:

Linda, ah jewelry. That comes in such a nice little box or pouch. :) Ear plugs? Hmmm…. Well, if you’re traveling on a long flight, you could use them. Otherwise, I’m with you! ??? :) THANKS for your comment! xo, Leanne

  15. alisha woods says:

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. Such thought went into each item so that is what matters most

  16. Cheryl Lemon says:

We didn’t have stockings growing up. But I think the worst gift was getting socks and underwear. The best gift was bringing my son home from the hospital. He was born 7 1/2 weeks early and he got to come home the week before Christmas. That was 32 years ago. He is still a blessing.

    • Leanne says:

Oh, Cheryl, what a lovely gift. Your son. Your story brings tears to my eyes. The people are what really matters. (And I actually LOVE getting knee socks — along with other things). THANK YOU for sharing!!! xo, Leanne

  17. Growing up we didn’t have much so there were no stockings. I did get to buy a “forever” Christmas tree the first year I started working. I don’t remember what I got for Christmas but I do remember that Mummy and I would always buy socks, underwear and pajamas for my brother every year. Now I don’t think that’s nice because you’d kinda know what to expect every Christmas. LOL.
    Merry Christmas Leanne.
BTW I love the new book! I haven’t gotten to finish it yet cos I’m still busy baking to get all the orders out tomorrow. Yikes!

    • Leanne says:

Alexandra, what a sweet story! And hey, I still love getting socks! Be nice to yourself. Your TREATS ARE AMAZING!!! Thank you for responding!!!!! xo, Leanne

  18. Marcy Shuler says:

My least favorite stocking stuffers were probably socks and underwear I got as a kid. LOL

    Some fun things I’ve gotten:
    Hot Sauce
    A watch
    Mittens
    Gift card
    Ice cream toppings
    Hot chocolate packets
    Popcorn seasonings
    Beef jerky

    :)

  19. Leanne says:

Oh, man, I love the fun things you’ve received! Hot sauce! A watch! Mittens! Gift card and Ice cream toppings! I know I’m repeating, but I could go on!!!! YUM! And we eat a LOT of popcorn at our house!!! Love this list! Thank you for commenting! xo, Leanne

  20. Amy Higgison says:

My favorite gift is Chapstick because I am forever losing mine! My least favorite is chocolate because I am always trying to be good!! :)

  21. Amber Hummel says:

My least favorite stocking stuffer was a set of pot holders from my mom when I moved out. I really didn’t want practical that year, lol, now as a real adult I would appreciate it. My most favorite was a Barnes and Noble gift card so I could buy more books!

    • Leanne says:

Sounds great Amber! I understand. Some years you want practical, some years you don’t! Good for you on the gift card! Thank you for commenting! xo, Leanne

  22. Marcia Berbeza says:

Loved getting a silver dollar. Sometimes a paperback book. School supplies just didn’t cut it as a kid. For my kids, I always found flavored chap sticks to put in their stockings.

    • Leanne says:

Marcia, I still love getting a silver dollar. It’s just fun. :) Have you seen the new flavors of chapstick?!!! Coke-a-Cola, Cookies and Cream!!! Crazy, but fun. Thank you for commenting! xo, Leanne

  23. Jane Squires says:

I love getting tea bags – various flavors – cappachino (sp), any kind of candy or chocolate.
I get my granddaughters – lip balm, nail polish, candy canes, lifesaver books and such.
My grandsons get hot wheel cars – lots of them – they love their cars.

    • Leanne says:

Jane, it sounds like you have it all down pat. I bet your grandkids love their little goodies and toys! Thanks bunches for commenting! xo, Leanne

  24. Gigi says:

i haven’t had a stocking in a long time but I always loved Reese’s peanut butter cups in Christmas colors. I am the filler of stockings around my house and my girls like nail polish and stuff like that.

  25. Dyan says:

A friend of mine always gets $2.00 bills and the kids all think they are so cool!
