So with the end of 2013, I thought it might be fun to compile a “Best of…” list. I am looking for the best of anything of the past year. What was the best book you read? The best movie you saw? The best vacation you took? Best restaurant you visited… Can be anything that you thought was great about 2013!!

Leave a post, and I’ll pick a winner of a gift card!

  1. Linda Henderson says:

Best book I read was probably Divergent by Veronica Roth and then Dark Witch by Nora Roberts. Best restaurant, Chipolte’s. Best movie Hunger Games. I didn’t get to take any vacations but I’m hoping to this year.

    • Linda–

I just saw an ad for “Dark Witch” and I thought it sounded good. Been a while since I read one of Nora Roberts’ book, so I might have to give that one a try.

And Mexican food is always among my favorites!

  2. Stacy! Great idea:

Best Special Edition: An Early Christmas Gift by Susan Crosby

Best Restaurant: The Riverview in Troutdale, Oregon. I adore the ambiance there and the service is lovely.

    • Christine–

I’ve really enjoyed Susan’s latest series, too!

And I just love the name of the restaurant and town–Riverview in Troutdale! I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve never been to the Northwest, and I’ve always wanted to go!

  3. Joanna Sims says:

    Hi Stacy,

Best trip: my first RWA in Atlanta
Best party: my first Harlequin Ball (very cool)
Best Special Edition moment: selling my second story (hurray)
Best accomplishment: becoming a certified speech-language pathologist (years in the making)

    Happy 2014!

    Joanna

  4. amy o'neal says:

best special edition was bravo royale series.
    best restaurant hmmm…logans roadhouse
    best movie..to many to name

    • Amy–

I’ve enjoyed the Bravo royals, too. I think my favorite so far has been Her Highness and the Bodyguard.

And we have a Logan’s here, but I’ve never been there. You’ve made me want to give it a try!

  5. Summer says:

Best book is really tough for me, I read so many I love, I think maybe Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell was my favorite, it was really honest with a lot of heart.

I finally watched Silver Linings Playbook towards the end of the year and it was the best romantic comedy I’ve seen in a long time, loved the characters, loved that it was kind of dark yet hopeful, too.

My only vacation this year I went on a little road trip to see two Kiss concerts, and two New Kids on the Block concerts, they couldn’t have been more different, but both are more about being fun than being pretentious about music, so they deliver a good time.

    • Summer–

Your concerts sound like a blast! I was a huge Duran Duran fan when I was young and never had a chance to see them. Then, when they toured last year, I think, I finally saw them live. It was great!

I heard Silver Linings Playbook was good, but I didn’t see it. May have to rent that one.

  6. Lori says:

Best TV show was “Once Upon a Time”.
Best Movie was “Saving Mr. Banks”.
Best book I listened to was Dan Brown’s “Inferno” even though it started off a little slow and I thought it would be like his others but rest assured it was not.

  7. Ada says:

Best book I read is Penny Reid’s Neanderthal Seeks Human. There are a ton of other great books but that one stands out for me as Penny is a new author and she blew me away with that book! I’d have to add that it’s probably the best series (Knitting in the City) for 2013.

Best TV show: Sleepy Hollow – for both the storyline and for Tom Mison lol

  8. Michelle Major says:

Great post, Stacy! I’m late chiming in b/c I’m recovering from the worst holiday travel ever. Ha. My best movie was Thor2 (strictly based on one shirtless scene w/Chris Hemsworth!) and going to England was definitely the best trip! Hope you have an amazing 2014!

  9. Anita H. says:

Best movie, I’d have to say Despicable Me 2 :) Love me some Minions! Best book, I’d go with Jill Shalvis and book 4 of her Animal Magnetism series, Rumor Has It.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  10. Sandi in OH says:

My favorite trip was to Atlanta Georgia where we visited the aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo. We saw the panda bears except for the mommy with her twins. We spent a week at Stone Mountain State Park which was wonderful. We camped at the Atlanta Speedway for the Good Sam’s Rally where we saw two concerts, The Beach Boys and Vince Gill.

  11. A+++ transaction, Item is as described (beautiful), super fast shipping, Thanks!

  12. This can also be accomplished by choosing more dramatic window curtains that contrast with the shower curtain. Bathroom walls and floor can be finished in varying types of coverings. When choosing ceramic tile, keep maintenance in mind. I still invested $51.97 in relation to center stocks concerning two youths (the first is attending college, another you are not as long). I still have to buy schooling college textbooks. Goodness. The whole world loves the Irish. How could anyone not? No other co

An intriguing discussion is worth comment. I believe that you will need to write a lot more on this topic, it may not be a taboo topic but typically consumers aren’t sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

  23. Hmm is anyone else having problems with the pictures on this blog loading? I’m trying to find out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  24. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the structure of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
